The ST-SEWS system is an advanced submarine optical cable monitoring and early warning solution designed to enhance the safety, survivability, and operational efficiency of undersea communication infrastructure. Most existing fibre optic sensing systems use Φ-OTDR technology, which is limited to short distances (30-50 km) and primarily used for land-based perimeter security.
ST-SEWS is the first commercial solution to provide real-time, long-distance monitoring of submarine optical cables, covering up to 1000 km with repeaters.
