SessionStrike: Stateful Network Traffic Generator

Apposite Technologies
Traffic Generation for Testing Stateful Network Devices
SessionStrike Stateful network traffic generator
  • Emulate clients and servers to test stateful network devices
  • Emulate HTTP and TCP connections to directly test real application servers
  • SessionStrike Can Be Used to Test:
    • - TCP Connection Capacity
    • - Maximum TCP Connection Establishment Rate
    • - Maximum TCP Connection Tear Down Rate
    • - Maximum HTTP Transaction Rate
    • - HTTP Transfer Rate
    • - HTTP capacity with HTTP persistent connections
  • Supported HTTP actions: GET, PUT, POST, HEAD, OPTIONS
  • Statistics include:
    • - HTTP request error conditions including session timeouts, rejected connections and conditions
    • - HTTP session requests sent and successful
    • - TCP setup (SYN/SYN-ACK/ACK)
    • - TCP Tear Down (RST/ FYN-ACK)
    • - TCP timeout

SessionStrike assesses how fast stateful network devices can establish and tear down TCP and HTTP connections for capacity and performance testing. Use SessionStrike to emulate clients and servers at very high scale to verify the session holding capabilities of devices like load balancers and firewalls, or directly isolate application servers and Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) to measure their ability to handle peak traffic conditions.

If a device cannot process all the traffic it receives, it will become a performance bottleneck or point of failure on the network. SessionStrike generates millions of TCP and HTTP connections to help identify weak links before they cause an outage or crash.
